Game & Level Dev & Design

I'm currently working as a level designer at Akupara Games. I do a lot of implementation, level setup, Polish tweaking, and planning both in and out of documentation. it's a lot of work, and it tends to vary by project and by how close to release we are.

None of the projects I've been on with them are public yet.
The sheep's meow
2020 - 2022
Contract programmer

I do programming for them here and there, often implementing back-end systems like dialogue or tile-based map saving and loading and managing, or RPG combat.  Sometimes its more front-end, like tutorial windows and ability coding - It really depends on what they've dreamed up on any given occasion.
Cartomancy Anthology: Team Hermit (Backend code and 3D Modeling) - This was a project where a group of dev teams each made a game based around a tarot card. Ours was the Hermit. The short game was a somber point-and-click taking place across a chain of old 'photographs'.

I did the backend coding, creating tools to allow GJ Lee and Brian Chung to build the story they had in mind. I also modeled and set up the 3d space the game took place in.
Tree Trunk Brook (Dialogue and Systems Coding) - a calm little game about hiking during the pandemic.

Future Dreams (Combat coding, Dialogue writing) - a turn-based rpg made during a special jam organized by ASAP.
Bramble

September 2021- July 2022
Level Design

Bramble is a web-based virtual venue aimed at hosting events during the Coved-19 Lockdown. I Worked alongside the artists and lead designer to create new event spaces and did a lot of work to maintain the existing worlds and the repository/library they used (and create a few tools to help do it).
It was a very hands-on role that challenged me with creating the best environment possible with the assets I was given and some basic specs. I had to carefully plan for the number of people expected to be in the space, and focus on usability above all else.
